Finding a Virtual Queer Haven
Away from the archipelago of coastal American cities, queer youth have few physical safe spaces, so many go online to find a sense of belongingness. I wrote this essay for Conde Nast's them. about LGBTQ+ isolation in Appalachia, rural satellite internet and the beauty of discovering queer worlds in the raunchiest corners of the Internet — how virtual realms can blossom with safe spaces for the marginalized and the forgotten. I know because it’s my story too.
